Wonderful write up Gowri! I remember reading my first Agatha Christie while in school and since then I have been hooked! I love the genre of whodunit , murder mystery and crime fiction! One of the best that comes to my mind is "The Purloined Letter"! Though not a full blown book but short story which actually made me delve deeper into such fiction and till today I love reading those! Keep the series coming ! You are a wonderful writer who dives deep into the subject with easy enough explanations for a layman to understand!
I love hearing from other lovers of this genre. So glad you found Christie in your teen years - so did I! She is responsible for my lifelong passion for detective fiction. :D I haven't read The Purloined Letter, actually but now that you've mentioned it, will definitely look it up and read it. Thanks for reading About Murder, She Wrote. 🤗
Really interesting read. I've read a lot of these kinds of stories, but hadn't thought of the differences you brought out.
Interestingly, Death Comes As The End was (if my memory serves me right) the first Christie I picked up in my school library nearly 30 years ago. Took me a while to figure out the 'weird' relationships (ancient Egypt... IYKYK) but it was definitely an ending that made me go, "wow! Cool!"
Here's perhaps a good reco for your Closed Circle list: The Seven Deaths of Emily Hardcastle bu Stuart Turton. It's not only a Closed circle but a time loop as well: the narrator is forced to relive the day (a la Groundhog Day) until the murderer has been unmasked from among those stuck with him... Wacky, but definitely a fair-play mystery in its own way with a very satisfactory conclusion.
This is my favourite episode so far! All the recommendations are gold. How fun!
Yay! I was worried that I am recommending too much but so far, everyone seems to be bookmarking different things. :D
Never enough. Trust me!

I did read Evelyn Hardcastle but don't remember the plot. Is that good or bad? Perhaps it's time for a re-read.
